Cooper Mine

Yesterday our ward had their annual Pioneer Pancake breakfast at the park behind our house. We had a great morning socializing, eating pancakes, and playing outdoor games. After the breakfast we headed up to the Kennecot Cooper Mine past Daybreak. I had never been up there before, although Chris had, and we had never taken Arthur. It was really pretty interesting and there were lots of trucks on display at the small museum/visitors center at the top. Arthur had fallen asleep in the car on our way to the mine and was awoken as we boarded the buses that were to take us up the mountain side to the top. Arthur was incredibly concerned and didn't seem to see the logic in the idea as he kept a wary eye on the mountain we were climbing. He kept asking to get off the bus and became more and more nervous as we got further and further from our car. In spite of this, he did really enjoy the museum and the look out point where you can watch all the enormous trucks working. This tire in the picture is from one of the dump trucks that they use to haul away the rocks and dirt- trucks that are about the size of a two story house! We didn't end up taking many pictures from the day, but we had a great and exhausting time!
