'Ballers'

We have had quite a full and fun week!
It all started with our bar-b-que on Tuesday. Even with sporadic down pours of rain Chris was able to keep the fire going and made us some delicious ribs for dinner!

YUM!!

This is truly a picture worth a thousand words....but here are just a few.
Arthur is at the age of independent dressing, and it scares me. We have been helping him get dressed each day for the past three years and although he has gotten down the mechanics of it, I have been a bit nervous to turn the reins over and let him choose his clothes. Maybe there is something cathartic in picking out perfectly matched outfits for my children, I mean if I am going to look rumpled every day at least my kids can look cute, right? Haven't I earned that much at least? Am I the only mom that feels this way? Possibly. But the fact remains that I have hesitated to encourage his 'creative' dressing streak and, fortunately for me, Arthur hasn't ever shown much interest in picking out his clothes. So the other morning when I asked him to go get himself dressed lets just say it was more of an experiment than anything. When he hopped off to his bedroom and came out a few minutes later asking me to help him button up all three of his collar buttons I knew that I had created a monster. Socks, plaid shoes, checkered shorts, and yes a buttoned to the chin polo shirt later and suddenly I am Urkel's mom.
Oh well, here is to many more fashionable Arthur debuts to come!

Last night we went out bowling as a family for the first time! Some friends of ours suggested a group bowling date and although I was nervous about taking our kids to the bowling alley and the chaos that might come from that decision, we all had a great time!!

Arthur loved pushing the ball down the 'ramp' and kept getting his words mixed up so he ended up calling it balling instead of bowling.

He was also our official ball boy and when he wasn't 'balling' he was checking the ball return and lining up the bowling balls. It is a literal miracle that we ended the night with no smashed or broken fingers!

Our funny guy!

I just couldn't get enough of these tiny bowling shoes! Adorable!

What a great family night!
