Lately Arthur has been obsessed with the number 14. He can count on his own from 1 to 14, although I still haven't decided if he stops at the number 14 because he likes it so much or if that really is as far as he can count and thus why he loves that number. Just about every morning Arthur wakes up, looks at the clock and announces "14 o'clock time to get up!", and what I really want to say is "No, its 6 o'clock- go back to sleep!". All time seems to be measured in '14' scale with Arthur, as in: something will happen in "14 minutes", "14 days", or "14 weeks". Why 14? Only Arthur knows!
Arthur has just started telling us what he doesn't like. Mostly these new insights are revealed at the dinner table. The other week it was, "I don't like carrots!" (although he really does). Tonight we were blessed by the good graces of some friends of ours with a homemade vegetable lasagna for dinner. Arthur found the zucchini hiding in between layers of pasta on his plate and promptly announced "I don't like zucchini..." followed a second later by"...or rain, or hedgehogs!"
Good to know!

I can't believe how big he is. He was so tiny the last time I seen him! Kids say the funniest things!!!
Who DOES like hedgehogs? Not anyone I know. Though zucchini and rain are not that bad. How funny. I love his cookie monster costume - so perfect for Arthur and his mad cookie making skills (thanks to Chris).
Ha ha! That was a laugh-out-loud moment for me reading about Arthur's antics. I would love to get a convo going with that kid!
Why not hedgehogs? Did he have a bad experience with on lately? Have I missed a good story? Really, I love to hear about this budding personality and the things he does NOT like.
