Potty training take 3....ACTION!!
When we left England after Christmas many of Arthur's larger toys had to stay behind for Grandad to look after at his house since there just wasn't enough room on the airplane for everything! One of the casualties was his frog potty that he had really started to do well with! Once we had settled here in Utah Arthur started asking about where his potty was and if he could use the potty again. I have to admit that I ignored his first few inquires. He had been at a point of potty independence that I felt like we could attain again easily, but a month before my due date was not my idea of good timing for restarting potty training.
After more interest from both Arthur and Chris I headed to the store and finally bought a new potty. Well, two weeks have gone by and the only time Arthur is willing to sit on his potty is when he absolutely doesn't have to go. Fill him up on fluids, sit him there for hours, watch a movie on the potty, read stories, give him a snack....and not a drop in two weeks!!! He started to want to wear his pants without a diaper on underneath, so I thought that might be a step in the right direction...still no success! I know he pees at some point because his diapers always manage to get pretty wet, but even mention using the potty and he is dry as a bone for hours on end.
We saw some Thomas the train underwear at the store and after much enthusiasm from Arthur (and a little bit of dread from me) we made it out of the store as proud new owners of big boy underpants!! Once we got them home I think Arthur got a case of cold feet, he kept offering to "take them back to the store" and it took a few days for him to be convinced to even try them on. But once he had a pair of underwear on his bottom he immediately requested one for his head as well! One of his favorite books has been Aliens love Underpants, a really cute story- but now try to convince Arthur that underwear doesn't really belong on his head and you've got one disappointed toddler on your hands!
So here is to new Thomas underwear and keeping it dry!!

Love the many looks of Arthur in underpants. One day this will make a great story he can share with his children! Keep up the encouragement- it will happen one day when you least expect it.
