Food

We have had the 'treat' of grocery shopping here in Poland, at first it was a bit daunting not being able to read any of the labels on the food. We made some educated guesses and some just plain blind guesses and this is what we came home with.

Looks pretty normal right? Tuna, mayonnaise, chicken, spaghetti sauce, all in all we did pretty well. So far everything is edible and I have found some really tasty foods that are new to us, and even some American foods that they don't have in England (Cheetos!!).

It was almost a complete success...

Our two golden finds of the day: soy milk and Old El Paso flour tortillas!!

And taking the prize for the biggest flops of the day, meet mysterious carton of what we thought was milk (Chris said it tastes more like cheese milk, I have not been brave enough to try it) and the carton of dip like substance that I imagined to be something akin to hummus (in my defense, there is a picture of a cracker spread with the substance in question on the front of the carton!) but which turned out to be lard (literally-we looked it up later!) that tastes a bit like chicken.

Hilarious! Don't you love "pierogi"...the best raviolis stuffed with potatoes, cheese, or meat, sometimes even with sauerkraut...Next time you're shopping for milk, look for the word "MLEKO" on the bottle ;) Enjoy the experiments.

OK, I am still laughing at the adventure with food! Lard? Not sure what one does with that- can't imagine eating it on a cracker either. Thanks for taking lots of pictures. We love and miss you!
