As part of our holiday weekend earlier this month we took the kids to a Pirate themed miniature golf course.
Arthur is really in to pirates right now, so of course Stella is also really in to them as well. So it was a fun afternoon for everyone!
The kids had never 'golfed' before, so it took a few holes to get the idea. Trying to get the ball in the hole wasn't a tough idea, but the taking turns and doing it one hit at a time took a little getting used to.
The place was really fun and full of sea monsters, cannons and generally all things pirate. We even had to take a raft across a small stream to get from one hole to the next at one point. The kids loved it! This snake hole was Arthur's favorite- you hit the ball into its mouth!
By the end Arthur had two hole in ones on his record! Not bad for a first time!
Later in the day there was a Family Fun Fair hosted at our local village hall, so we went along and enjoyed some good food, fun, and face painting!
She can't be convinced by anything 'girly' and said no to every flower, butterfly, fairy design, but was very excited to be a dog!
Arthur chose a leopard and looked very fierce!
And in other news...Arthur's reading has really taken off! Not only has his reading skill snowballed lately, but I think because of it he is now really enjoying reading as well! As part of our school day the kids have reading time every morning and I love to find them snuggled up in our "reading corner" with Arthur reading a story to Stella. We are so proud of all your hard work and perseverance Arthur!
