Our K week was fun, although it can be kind of tricky to come up with lots of K words that can be clearly depicted with clip art.
'Kings' were a big theme for this week so we tried to incorporate some appropriately 'king-y' crafts and games.
Arthur hunted for crowns that a king had lost.
Then he made his crown!
A few weeks ago we had a Relief Society activity on service and we each made a service jar that we filled with slips of paper that had ideas of small acts of service you could do. I wanted to use it during our letter K week, so I called it our 'kindness jar' and each day Arthur got to pull out as many slips as he wanted to do.

I think Arthur's favorite thing about it was that each time he did one of the 'kindnesses' from our jar he earned a Hershey Kiss- it was kisses for kindness!
Arthur developed a new love of kangaroos this week! We made some kangaroo crafts, then read books about kangaroos. After finding out how far and fast they can jump we headed outside to test our own hopping skills!
From where I was standing to take this picture to where Arthur is standing is 30 feet- the distance an adult kangaroo can jump in a single bound!
Here was Arthur testing his kangaroo hops!
I took a turn as well! Although none of us actually made it all the way to thirty feet, we had a great time being a family of kangaroos for the day and we all got a little bit of exercise!
Of course you can't have a k week without flying a kite. If only the wind would have cooperated! Try as we might we could not keep the kite airborne, but we all had fun anyway!
K is for kernels!
