Arthur has two great passions lately and, in case you can't guess, one of them is firemen! There is a British cartoon called 'Fireman Sam' and Chris' parents sent Arthur a DVD to watch, which he loved, followed by an actual Fireman Sam costume. Wow! What more could a little boy want?!
He has the cutest fireman voice that he uses whenever he is on a 'rescue mission'. He makes his voice as deep as he can and calls out orders, all the while reassuring the victims that help is on the way!

We frequently pretend that our car is a fire engine in a game that started out as me trying to get him to walk to the car a bit faster. Now whenever we need to run errands I call for Fireman Sam and tell him there is a fire emergency! Arthur dashes out to the car and hurries into his seat. The down side to this game? Arthur requires me to make a siren noise the whole drive! I bet you have never driven to the grocery store shouting "Nee-nar, nee-nar, nee-nar" the whole way. The other day we got in the car to pick up Chris from work and while we drove Arthur kept repeating "Quick, there's not a minute to lose when there is a fire blazing!" Something he got from a library book I'm sure, but I couldn't help laughing- we've got quite the little fireman on our hands!
