Feeling thankful...

...for Thanksgiving! This year Chris and I cooked up a mostly authentic American feast to share with our English family. I never knew how much I loved Thanksgiving until I started having to face a calendar where the fourth Thursday in November is just another Thursday!

...for homemade bread crumbs! Not to mention homemade stuffing!

...for little kitchen helpers! Arthur loved getting his hands in our pre-baking, literally! And since it was all stuff we were making the day before the meal there was no pressure in the kitchen and we all had a great time!

...for our baby girl! She is just an ever growing bump to us right now, but we love her already and can't wait to hold her!

...for pie crust! What could be more fun than rolling out the pie dough?

...for floury faces!

...for those little boy smiles!

...for crinkled edges,

and sweet fillings!

...for cheese balls! This was my first ever cheese ball and I couldn't have been more proud if I had actually given birth to it! It was beautiful and yummmy!!

...for piles of pillows on Grandma's bed!

...for appetizers! We enjoyed a little spread of all of my favorite starters a few hours before the main meal. One of the benefits of being the cook is getting to choose the menu!

...for deviled eggs! These are a family tradition on my side, it seems like no holiday is complete without them. Nothing disappears faster than a plate of these delightful eggs! I was a bit nervous about how they would be received here, almost no one had heard of deviled eggs before- let alone tasted one. But how could I ever have doubted their charm? They won everyone over (even the non-egg lovers!) and the plate was empty in impressive time!

...for cousin playtime! And for young imaginations! I'm pretty sure that Arthur is the submarine captain here (the submarine being his car seat and his potty chair insert serving as a captain's hat).

...for turkey!

...for our Thanksgiving meal!

...for Thanksgiving naps! Arthur was so excited about Thanksgiving dinner and had such a fun day that about 5 minutes after sitting down at the table to eat he nearly fell asleep in his mashed potatoes!

...for sleepy snuggles!

...for waking up just in time to eat pie!

...for playtime with Daddy!

...most of all for family!
We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and send you our love!
