Birthday girl

Just me and my mom.

This special post is dedicated to wishing my mom a very happy birthday!

To my mom:

Some people say that when you age
your skin wrinkles up like a weathered old page,
your colors will fade and your edges will fray,
(at least that's what I've heard some people say).
Like a favorite old book you begin to show wear,
a few smudges here, or maybe a tear,
but the stories are there on pages that tell
of good times, of hard times, of years loved so well.
You may feel a bit ragged at times it is true,
but the joy that you feel is always within you.
So show off your tears and take pride in your creases,
for the best kind of people are always loved to pieces!

I love you mom! Thanks for never tiring of my silly poems! Have a wonderful birthday!

You have touched my heart with your "silly little poem"- never stop writing! You have a gift that I treasure and I am crying (happy tears) now adding to the texture in my face. I am grateful for the small trenches that help channel the water down my face so I can see to write this message. They say that small tears in muscle makes it stronger- you have strengthened my heart today. I love you and cherish the honor you bestow on me. Together forever- you and me!

I knew your birthday was at the beginning of November, and now it's ringing a bell that your mom's is... the same day?

Happy Birthday to both of you!
