After leaving Warsaw, we flew to Italy to spend two weeks for a special lecture series that finished out Chris' semester. Arthur loved the train ride from Rome to Siena where we spent ten days in a cozy Italian apartment. Chris was in classes all day, but Arthur and I were free to roam the streets as tourists and eat all the Italian food we wanted!
I am still catching up on my posts, but we have lots of great pictures to share, here are a few and stay tuned for more from our Italian adventures!
Arthur's two favorite words after spending a day in Italy were "ice cream!" and "motorcycle!" Can you guess why? These must be the two things that we saw the most of, and we certainly did eat our fair share of Gelato!
There are two things that I learned right away:
#1 They don't have roads in Italy. They have quasi-sidewalk-streets where vehicles and pedestrians of all kinds fight for safe passage.
#2 They don't serve dinner until after 7:30. All of the restaurants shut down after lunch and don't open again at least 7pm. Sure, you can get Gelato any time of the day or night, but get hungry for dinner at 6:00 and you are out of luck!
But one thing is for sure, it was worth the wait!

Oh how I miss you! There was a girl walking outside a store on Saturday that looked like you and I almost shouted out, "Karin!" I just finished a book called Eat Pray Love about a girl that traveled to Italy [among other places]. I liked the book, but it was kind of interesting. Danny and I are studying Italian. Sorta. Ciao!
I love Italy! It was my favorite place we visited. I would go back there in a heart beat. Read "Under the Tuscan Sun." You'll love it.
What a fun adventure! I am excited to see more of your pictures of Italy. Love you all.
