Penny for your thoughts?

Welcome to England's currency system. Yes, these are all actively used coins in everyday currency exchange. Now try to imagine counting out exact change with a purse full of this absurdity. I mean really, can we make this anymore complicated? I miss good old straight forward Lincoln, Washington...you know the nice dead guys that didn't mind only having their face on one coin. So now imagine me standing at a checkout frantically pulling out coin after coin and dubiously trying to read the inscriptions on each one all whilst calculating the change that I owe, how on earth I am going to learn all of these coins by sight and how much longer the person in line behind me will continue to look at me with a polite (if not patronizing) smile before deeply sighing and silently cursing me.

I do not envy you there Karin!! Waaaay too complicated if you ask me. Just give me a nice plastic card and keep it easy! Do they even take debit cards in England?

Ha ha.

I'm sorry. I did the same thing in Bangladesh. But at least you can read them. Sometimes I had to ask people what certain coins were even worth period!
