Scooters and School

I have been accused lately of not updating my blog, but come on its only been a year.
Alright, yes I have been terrible about blogging for a while and these posts are long over due, even I was shocked at how young the kids look in these pictures. So buckle your seat belt, it'll be a bumpy ride! Introducing the rest of 2014...

This is the first of many school posts, and I will do my best to remember what we were studying and why it was so exciting!
This was a history project during our swoiree into all things Ancient Egypt. We were comparing methods of record keeping and figuring out which way could stand the test of time (and Bradford weather).
So they painted hieroglyphs on paper 'scrolls' and also put the same message on a clay tablet. We left them outside for a few weeks to see what would happen.

Stella on her first attempt at scooter riding!

Down our street...

and into the park!

Another history project for Ancient Egypt. The kids made their own mini mummies!

Dream Catcher craft.

The finished mummies! I loved the face Stella drew on her mummy- can you see it? Two blue eyes and a green mouth.

Making mummies is serious business!

Stella started letter of the week preschool work around this time last year, so she will be debuting in many of her own school pictures! Yay! I can remember taking pictures of Arthur doing a lot of the same crafts and activities that I've been doing with Stella for preschool, so it really brings back memories!

History project- sugar cube pyramids.
Should I mention that history is Arthur's favorite subject?

Hard at work!

Stella abstract interpretation of a pyramid.

The faces on these two!
