Our wanderings

One of our recent walks took us down to the huge park about 5 minutes (walk) from our house. It is enormous and has many pathways, gardens, a large pond with boats in the summer, sports courts, museum, and playgrounds. Arthur's favorite spot in the park is the fossilized tree stump. This tree has been dated back to long before the dinosaurs age. In the pavement around the tree are cool fossils from each era since the tree's time up to ancient man.

Thank goodness for Ergo baby carriers!

I can't wait to see these trees full of leaves in the spring!

On the playground.

For the weekend of Stella's birthday we took a train down to southern England where Chris' parents live. The kids were so excited to spend a day on a train, and for the most part it was really a nice trip- much better than driving! If only there was a direct train route it would be a little more relaxing. We have to change trains 3 or 4 times, including getting on the underground in London. I don't think that the kids realized quite how much dashing around it takes to get between trains in busy terminals, but once we've done it a few times I'm sure we'll get a system down! The kids loved getting lunch in the dining car of the train and getting to see the country side as we went.
Stella had a nice little nap and Arthur occupied himself with art projects and books along the way.

One of the best things we got to do during our visit was to see Chris' grandmother. Stella had never met her before, and it had been more than two years since Arthur had seen her. We loved being able to spend some time with her and help her get to know Stella a little better!

We love you Nana!
