A Zoo of letters!!

At last- the Zenith of our alphabet arrived! We had been looking forward to the letter Z with much Zeal and when the week arrived we wasted Zero time and Zipped through a Zoo of letters!

Z was all about Zebras and Zoos, but it was also a celebration of the whole alphabet in honor of Arthur (and Mommy) surviving each week to get to this point!

We worked as a team to sew up this homemade monkey puppet.

This alphabet cereal was a special treat for breakfast.

The letter Z was written with Zeros, formerly known as cheerios!

 Alphabet animal match up.

 Zoo animal picture puzzles.

To cap it all off we took a day trip to the Zoo!

Arthur chose not to stand so close to this enormous elephant statue because of the mysterious trumpeting noises that it made when anyone walked by.

My favorite craft this week was all about Zebras! The zebra's head is a tracing of Arthur's foot!

 We added ears, hair...

 and stripes of course!!

 Ta Da!

Daddy and Stella joined us for a game of alphabet BINGO!

Arthur won the game fair and square and he got the prize of getting to eat some of his BINGO pieces- yum!

To end our week we played an alphabet scavenger hunt. I hid the letters in special places and then gave Arthur clue cards to help him find each one.
A was hiding with the apples,

M got warm in the microwave,

while G hung out in a place that is green!

J hung around in someone's jacket,

and S stowed away with Stella's socks!

N was tucked in a place where we sleep at night,

while V cleaned up with the vacuum.

W got wet in the washer,

L was a little stinky in the dirty laundry,

and P tried to use the potty!

In the kitchen by the knives, who could it be?

Arthur got each clue one at a time and he did a great job finding all the letters in their special places!

His last clue took him to a bag full of Zoo animals (you know- the frosted kind with sprinkles!). What a fun way to end the week! Doing preschool at home this year was part exhausting, part eye opening, and always very rewarding for all of us! I love learning along with Arthur and watching his enthusiasm and curiosity grow each day. He is so bright and very eager to know new things, I can't wait to start our new adventures next year in Kindergarten!!
