We had Arthur's birthday party last weekend and despite some rearranging due to bad weather we all had a great time!
Arthur has known for months that he wanted to have a truck party for his birthday and so I made dump truck invitations and planned on having it at the local park. My grandmother made an amazing cake, so Saturday morning we set off in the beautiful sunshine to pick up the cake, a few balloons, and some ice cream for the party. We had scheduled the party from 2-4 and so of course at about 10 minutes to 2 the sky filled with ominous gray clouds and the wind picked up all of a sudden. By 2 it was raining and so, after a few phone calls and some quick furniture rearranging we made our house the new party location! The kids loved playing together and really enjoyed Arthur's toys, so I don't think they missed being at the park. And, as luck would have it, at almost exactly 4:00 the weather cleared and we saw the sun re-emerge! Oh well, happy birthday Arthur!
