Taking life literally!

The other day Arthur was in his room playing and began calling for Chris: "Daddyyyy!...Daddyyyy can you come?"
To which Chris (who was doing my bidding at the moment) replied:
"Hold your horses Arthur!"

A few minutes later when Chris got to Arthur's room I heard them both laughing. Can you guess how he had found Arthur?
That's right, sitting on his bed holding his horse- literally. Not only a horse but a plethora of other barn animals surrounded him, I'm guessing that was just in case Daddy asked him to hold anything else while he waited!

Today after church Arthur wanted to play outside, but Chris told him we had to change out of our Sunday clothes first. So Chris dutifully got Arthur's pants off, changed his diaper and stepped outside for a minute to throw away the soggy one. On his return he found Arthur busily working to get dressed for a day outside! Apparently Arthur was hoping for snow...

In his snow hat rummaging for a sweater to add to his ensemble.

After attempting to add a second shirt on top of the one he was already wearing, he gave up and opted for a hoodie instead. I helped a bit with this one, but he insisted on wearing the hood over his hat to "keep the snow off his head".

He then announced that he was "Ready to go outside!"....He was only missing a couple of things, the most important one being pants! Once I pointed this out (and it did take a bit of convincing!) he happily skipped back to his dresser and found a pair suitable for "snow".

Bear in mind that Arthur has never dressed himself and doesn't usually express any interest in choosing his own clothes either...

So what if his pants were on backwards? The point is that after a few failed attempts and some deep concentration he arose triumphant!

My funny, independent, and determined almost three year old! I love you little boy!!
