Christmas Catch Up

101 things to do when the snow just won't stop, by Karin Davey- #45: Fill spray bottles with water and add food coloring, use the snow as a blank canvas and start spraying!

Arthur opened his own impromptu 'snow cone' shop- Yum!

I'm sure our neighbors wondered where all the tie dyed snow had come from, but we had a great time being creative!

This year our Christmas was full of packing and luggage restrictions. We moved out of our home in Orem a few days after Christmas and prepared to move back to England with our suitcases readied!
By now we have a collection of these pictures of Arthur at all different ages sitting in an empty suitcase as we packed up to head off to a new home, usually in a new country.

It's so fun now that Stella gets her own luggage picture! It really makes it seem like time has flown by now that we have another little body going along with us on our adventures overseas.

We did manage to fit in some good Christmas traditions along with all the packing. My mom always had one present ready for us to open Christmas Eve- new pajamas. When I was growing up they were always homemade pj's with a special touch from her. As her kids got older Mom carried on the tradition with the grandchildren and sent each of them a new pair of pajamas every year to open on Christmas Eve. Just before her accident in September Mom had started her Christmas shopping and the first thing she had picked out was the grand-kids' pajamas. They were sitting in her closet ready to be wrapped and sent with love for Christmas. I don't know if this will be the last year my kids will have this special gift from her, but it meant so much to me that at Christmas time when so much seemed wrong knowing that she wasn't there to share in it we were still able to celebrate this very special tradition!

 Thanks Grandma Carla!
We can't imagine Christmas without you, Mom. I love you!

Stella is crazy about monkeys! Her special stuffed animal that she sleeps with every night is a monkey and so as soon as all our backs were turned Stella decided to try out Arthur's new pajamas!

Christmas morning the kids found a few special things under the tree for them. This new backpack will be one of Stella's carry-on for the flight to the UK.

Chris made us a really lovely Christmas dinner- Turkey and all!

We had already sold our table and chair set, so we were borrowing my grandparents spare folding table.
It made for a cozy and fun Christmas meal!

Our last few days in Utah had us trying to fill in the gaps between packing, sorting and cleaning with all the last trips to some of our favorite places!

Thanksgiving Point Dino Museum- we will miss you!

As I took pictures around the house of the last items to post for sale before we moved out Stella was eager for me to take just as many pictures of her. She kept coming up to me and asking me to take another picture of her, then posing for me! She had even put on her fancy church shoes for this photo shoot!
